This continued with the introduction of innovative therapies such as gold salts for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, colestyramine for hyperlipidaemia, bisphosphonates for Paget抯 disease and osteoporosis and methylphenidate for the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), amongst others.
