CMC is used in textile and dyeing industry as trimming agent and printing thickener. As trimming agent, CMC can replace starch size in reducing the pollution to enviroment in the sizing and desizing process. Meanwhile, CMC forms a thin film on the surface of fabrics, which enhances the probability of harness skip and yarn breaking. As printing thickener in the dyeing industry, CMC can improve the hydrophilic and penetrating capability of dyes. Under such conditions colors on fabric are uniform and clear. Fixation efficiency of the dye is lifted. |
