  Description:
      Cordyceps sinensis, known in English commonly as caterpillar fungus, 

  is considered a medicinal mushroom in oriental medicines, such as 

  traditional Chinese medicines and traditional Tibetan medicine.
      Some work has been published in which Cordyceps sinensis has been 

  used to protect the bone marrow and digestive systems of mice from whole 

  body irradiation. An experiment noted a chemical compound isolated from 

  Cordyceps sinensis may protect the liver from damage. An experiment with 

  mice noted that Cordyceps sinensis may have an antidepressant effect.

  Researchers have noted that a polysaccharide isolated from Cordyceps 

  sinensis has a hypoglycemic effect and may be beneficial for people with 

  insulin resistance.

   

  Main Function
  1.The mushroom was used as a cure all, but was especially thought to 

  be an aphrodisiac and a supplement for healthy male sexual function.
  2.Cordyceps has been shown to stimulate the immune system and contain 

  anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.
  3.It has also been demonstrated that Cordyceps enhances blood circulation 

  and can lower LDL cholesterol while raising beneficial HDL cholesterol.
  4.Cordyceps is still used in China as a support product for sexual function 

    and as an energy booster.
  5.Along with Reishi and Shiitake, Cordyceps is among the most beneficial 

  of mushrooms.
